Segway Ninebot Dirt eBike E10 Review

The spec that matters most isn't speed — it's weight. The E10 is the kids' entry in Segway's dirt eBike line, and its lithium-light build means an 8-year-old can pick the bike up off the ground alone after a tip-over. If you've never watched a 60-pound child struggle under a 100-pound lead-acid Razor, that might sound trivial. It isn't. A bike a kid can manage by themselves is a bike they ride with confidence, restart without help, and stop fearing after the first fall. Segway built a dirt bike scaled to the actual child, not just the child's ambitions.

The riding experience follows the same philosophy. Top speed sits around 10 mph — brisk enough to feel real, calm enough that a first-timer's mistakes happen at survivable pace. Front suspension takes the edge off roots, ruts, and curb drops, which flatters new riders and keeps the front wheel planted where a rigid fork would deflect. The lithium battery recharges quickly rather than commandeering an outlet overnight, so a Saturday can realistically contain multiple sessions. As a machine for learning throttle control, balance, and standing position, the whole package is coherent.

The honest math problem: a Razor MX650 goes 17 mph and costs less. If your rider is 11 or 12 and hungry, the E10's 10 mph will feel like training wheels within a season, and you'll have paid a premium for the privilege. The platform is also newer — the owner community, parts knowledge, and repair folklore around Razor's Dirt Rockets simply don't exist for Segway's line yet.

Buy the E10 for an 8-to-10-year-old having their first dirt bike experience, especially a smaller or more cautious one. Buy the Razor for the kid who's already asking about top speed.
