Ryder Toys 24V Renegade UTV Review

The math is the pitch. A 24V two-seater from Peg Perego runs $500 and up, often well up. The Renegade UTV gives you the same headline spec — twenty-four volts, two seats, off-road intent — for $350 to $450. Ryder Toys is one of a wave of direct-to-consumer ride-on brands that skipped the toy-aisle middlemen, and the Renegade is the reason parents keep typing the name into search bars. It looks the part too: a proper side-by-side stance and enough molded aggression that kids read it as equipment, not toy.

The 24V system is real, not badge engineering. It pulls two kids across grass without the sad bogging-down that defines overloaded 12V two-seaters, and it maintains momentum on the modest slopes that stop cheaper vehicles cold. The bench genuinely fits two children side by side rather than one child and a squished volunteer. Speed and power sit comfortably in the range you'd expect from the voltage — enough to feel like an upgrade, not enough to require protective negotiations.

The honest limitation isn't on the spec sheet. Ryder Toys is a young brand, and young brands have young ecosystems. Peg Perego will sell you a replacement motor, shifter, or wheel for a vehicle it made a decade ago; that's a real part of what its premium buys. With Ryder, replacement parts, warranty responsiveness, and five-year durability are all still being proven in the field. Early signs are reasonable. A track record takes years, and this brand doesn't have them yet.

If you want maximum 24V two-seater for the money and you're comfortable being somewhat early, the Renegade is a genuinely strong buy. If you want the vehicle your grandkids might inherit, pay the Peg Perego tax.
